The school opens at 8.45am so that children can be in their classroom for 8.55am. The school day ends at 3.00pm.
Foundation Stage children have continuous access to outdoor provision.
Key Stage 1 children break from 10.30am - 10.45am.
Lunch is staggered from 11.45pm to 1.00pm dependent on Year Group and lasts an hour.
At the beginning of the school day, parents/carers bring their children into school. Please note that it is our School Protocol that it is the responsibility of all parents & carers to accompany their children to their classrooms or, when dropping them off in the playground, they must ensure that they have entered the main school building after the doors have opened, before leaving the premises. We cannot be held responsible for children not arriving in class if the protocol is not followed. Please help us to keep our children safe—thank you.
At the end of the day, parents/carers collect their children from their classroom. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If your normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know in good time. This avoids any confusion or upset and helps us to keep the children safety.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely. In order to keep children safe and abide by highways regulations, please do not park in the alleyways, school car parks or entrance ways.
Morning Session 8.55am to 11.55am
We also offer afternoon (paid for) childcare sessions from 11.55am until 2.55pm, if you would like your child to stay at Wyvern after their morning session. Please contact Ann Lewis, School Business Manager if you would like to book some additional afternoon sessions.
